The downturn in the economy has forced us all to take a hard look at what we do in business and how we do it. Sounds pretty basic but in the past few years most of us have been so busy pulling the fish out of our nets that we haven't paid attention to where our boats were heading....suddenly we found ourselves in a sea with very few fish.
This is only a bad thing if we allow it to be. Many people I speak with are doing the same thing I am; examining the way we conduct business and with whom we are conducting it. Take a look around you; there are opportunities to increase your business and contacts all around and the good news is: all these new contacts are receptive to hearing from you; if you reach out in a personal way. Do you notice all the new mail you are getting that is hand addressed? How about the number of guests that show up to Chamber of Commerce meetings or trade group dinners, or any seminar that is promoting education in your field? I can't say the mailings work on me but I do see people enjoying the face to face human interaction of a meeting or just talking and listening to another human being.
I am constantly thrilled making phone calls to people I don't know who are happy to take my call and talk to me because we share a client or we work with a similar client base but we have never met. We talk about building alliances, helping each other out and finding ways to do what we do better and together. Holy Cow! why didn't I take the time to call these good folks before? Was I missing an opportunity? Perhaps, but perhaps they wouldn't have had time to take my call 18 months ago. Now they do, and now they are listening. This opportunity does not come around often; we will get busy again and we won't have time to take calls from or make call to other busy colleagues and allies. Don't miss this time, who knows when it will come around again. These fellow fisherman may the key to finding your way back to the fertile fishing grounds again.

Fun new technology continues to improve home entertainment
For me living in a world that is continuously changing can be an interesting mix of excitment and exhauston! There is no question that it's not fun having to keep up with changes we experience almost daily in our world but one of the little bright spots for me is the everchanging world of technology products that change the way we entertain ourselves on the move and at home.
Many of these products can be added very simply to many existing home entertainment systems and really leverage your current music as well as give you access to so many sources for music and information from around the globe.
Years ago when the multi disc CD changer came about many rejoiced that now they could listen to many of there music CD's without having to walk to the player every hour to change discs. Wow, what a breakthrough! That was only a decade or so ago and yet it seems like ancient history at this point.
Let me share one really cool add on that can make you fall in love with music again and add real value to your music system without spending a ton of cash. Sonos is a device that can either be added to an existing system or can be built into new system that will give you access to all of the music you keep on your computer(s), music services such as Pandora and Rhapsody as well as 15,000 internet radio stations. My family is in love with being able to do things like listen to stations we create on Pandora that reflect what we are doing at the time or the mood we want to create. We also really enjoy hearing the BBC news as an alternative way of gathering information on the world around us. These are only two ideas that represent what we view as a way of re-engaging with our system and like I said; falling in love with our music and entertainment....again. There is also a Sonos app for the iPhone. As if you were looking for one more reason to justify buying one. Click here for a demo.
Confusing? It is to many people. Here is what you should do: call or email me, I can walk you through specifics about what is entailed in adding Sonos to your existing system or building a new system with Sonos. Engaging experts is the best way to make sure you design or re-design your system correctly. There are to many variables to discuss in this post but that is why we are here. Thanks
